This class of myosins are characterized by an amino-terminal kinase domain and shown to be present in photoreceptors. Transcript Variant: This variant (1) lacks an alternate in-frame exon in the coding region, compared to variant 2. This results in a shorter protein (isoform 1), compared to isoform 2.
