The fusion results from 2Mb tandem duplications at 7q34. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2012] Transcript Variant: This variant (1), also known as the long-form, v1, uses an alternate in-frame splice site in the 3' coding region, compared to variant 2. The resulting isoform (1) lacks an internal segment near the C-terminus, compared to isoform 2.
