Buffer | Presentation State: Purified State: Lyophilized purified protein Stabilizer: None |
Bioactivity | Biological: Sequentially cleaves carboxyl side of D-D-D-D-K |
Reconstitution | We recommended a quick spin followed by reconstitution in water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. This solution can be diluted into other aqueous buffers and stored at 4°C for one week or at –20°C for future use. |
Preparation | Lyophilized purified protein |
Protein Description | Human Enterokinase is expressed as a linear 1019 amino acid polypeptide precursor glycoprotein. Proteolytic processing of this precursor generates the biologically active form of Enterokinase, which consists of two polypeptide chains (heavy chain and light chain) held together by a single disulfide bond, resulting in formation of a biologically active heterodimer. The heavy chain consists of 784 amino acid residues, and the light consists of 235 amino acid residues. |
Note | Centrifuge vials before opening! |
Storage | Store lyophilized at 2-8°C for 6 months or at -20°C long term. After reconstitution store the antibody undiluted at 2-8°C for one month or (in aliquots) at -20°C long term. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing. |
Stability | Shelf life: one year from despatch. |

Summary | 'This gene encodes an enzyme that converts the pancreatic proenzyme trypsinogen to trypsin, which activates other proenzymes including chymotrypsinogen and procarboxypeptidases. The precursor protein is cleaved into two chains that form a heterodimer linked by a disulfide bond. This protein is a member of the trypsin family of peptidases. Mutations in this gene cause enterokinase deficiency, a malabsorption disorder characterized by diarrhea and failure to thrive. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]' |
