Protein Description | Recombinant Human soluble TIE-1 was fused with the Fc part of Human IgG1. The soluble receptor protein consists of the full extracellular domain (Met1-Glu749). The recombinant mature TIE-1/Fc is a disulfide-linked homodimeric protein. Human TIE-1/Fc monomer has a calculated molecular mass of approximately 105 kDa. As a result of glycosylation, the recombinant protein migrates as an approximately 125 kDa protein in SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions. |

Summary | This gene encodes a member of the tyrosine protein kinase family. The encoded protein plays a critical role in angiogenesis and blood vessel stability by inhibiting angiopoietin 1 signaling through the endothelial receptor tyrosine kinase Tie2. Ectodomain cleavage of the encoded protein relieves inhibition of Tie2 and is mediated by multiple factors including vascular endothelial growth factor.
