• Background: The eB114 antibody reacts with the RASSF1A isoform of the tumor suppressor gene RASSF1. RASSF1A contains a Ras Association Domain (RA) and binds Ras in a GTP-dependent manner to effect apoptosis. The RASSF1A isoform undergoes epigenetic inactivation in a variety of human primary tumors. This has been associated with hypermethylation of a CpG island(s) in its promoter region. This antibody was generated against a synthetic peptide corresponding to the splice junction region of RASSF1A.
