• Background: The RIK-2 monoclonal antibody reacts with human TNF-related apoptosis-inducing ligand (TRAIL), a member of the TNF superfamily. TRAIL is not expressed by resting human cells but has been shown to be induced under certain activation conditions. Iin addition it is expressed on several human tumor lines. Interaction of TRAIL with its ligand, Apo-2, induces apoptosis. RIK-2 blocks TRAIL-induced apoptosis.
