• Background: THRAP3 (thyroid hormone receptor associated protein 3) is a nuclear receptor playing a role in transcriptional coactivation and is a subunit of the large TRAP (thyroid hormone receptor-associated protein) complex. THRAP3 is a member of a family of proteins that are characterized by the presence of a nuclear receptor recognition motif, which mediates the ligand-dependent binding of TRAP proteins to the nuclear receptors.
