Background | Monoclonal antibody WEN3 reacts with rat CD43, also known as Leukosialin, Sialophorin or W3/13 antigen. CD43 is a major glycoprotein of thymocytes and T lymphocytes, a factor in lectin binding and counter-receptor for Siglec-1 (Sialoadhesin). CD43 is a single-pass type I membrane protein with a 371 amino acid backbone that presents carbohydrate ligands to selectins. T cells express two glycoforms of CD43, with molecular weights of 115 kDa and 130 kDa due to different glycosylation patterns. This antibody was produced in vitro from cell culture supernatant. |
Synonyms | CD43; Galactoglycoprotein; GALGP; GPL115; leukosialin; LSN; Sialophorin |
