The resulting isoform (2) is shorter compared to isoform 1. The 5' UTR and 5' coding region for variant 2 are identical to those of variant 1 so the synthesis of two isoforms based on alternate in-frame translation starts discussed in PMID: 227619920 for variant 1 may also occur.
