The encoded protein cycles between early endosomes and the trans-Golgi network, and may play a role in exocytic vesicle formation. Transcript Variant: This variant (3, A allele) uses an alternate splice site in the 3' coding region, which results in a frameshift, compared to variant 1. The encoded isoform (3) has a longer and distinct C-terminus, compared to isoform 1. This variant (3, A allele) differs at 1 nt position compared to variant 3, B allele.
