• Background: DAPK2, a DAPK type protein kinase, contains a N-terminal protein kinase domain followed by a conserved CaM-binding domain with significant homologies to other kinases in this subfamily. In vitro assay experiments have shown that the protein is autophosphorylated. Overexpression of the DAPK2 gene was shown to induce cell apoptosis.
