| Background | Podoplanin is a highly O-glycosylated integral membrane protein that is specifically expressed in the epithelium of lymphatic capillaries but not in the blood vasculature. In normal skin and kidney, Podoplanin colocalized with VEGFR-3/FLT-4, another marker for lymphatic endothelial cells. |
