Background | Ah receptor-associated protein (ARA9) is also known as AIP and XAP2. This protein displays structural similarity to the glucocorticoid receptor-associated immunophilin FKBP52. Although they share significant homology, they have distinct cellular roles and biochemical properties. ARA9 is known to affect the potency and efficacy of AHR agonists in the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae as well as having functional consequence on AHR signal transduction. |
