  Immunohistochemistry-Paraffin: PLTP Antibody TA301774 - PLTP was detected in immersion fixed paraffin-embedded sections of human placenta using Rabbit Anti-Human PLTP polyclonal Antibody (Catalog # TA301774) at 1:300 for 1 hour at room temperature followed by incubation with the Anti-Rabbit IgG VisUCyte™ HRP Polymer Antibody (Catalog # VC003). Tissue was stained using DAB (brown) and counterstained with hematoxylin (blue). Specific staining was localized to the cytoplasm in decidual cells.

• Background: Plasma phospholipid transfer protein (PLTP) plays a central role in regulating plasma HDL levels and distribution of HDL subpopulations. This regulation is evidenced in vivo by markedly reduced plasma HDL levels in PLTP gene knock-out mice. PLTP also facilitates free cholesterol influx into HDL.
