• Background: Orexin B is a 28-amino acid neuropeptide hormone involved in the regulation a variety of behavioral and physiological processes in response to motivational stimuli. Orexins (Orexin A and Orexin B) are produced by proteolytic cleavage of prepro- orexin. They were so named for their stimulatory role in feeding behavior, but also play important functions in the organism's energy homeostasis and sleep cycles. They exert their effects through G-protein coupled receptors. This antibody was generated by immunization of rabbits with Orexin B coupled to a carrier protein.
