Background | Neurotensin is a 13-amino acid neuropeptide that shares similarity in its 6 C-terminal amino acids with several other neuropeptides, including neuromedin N. It is distributed through the central nervous system, with highest levels in the hypothalamus, amygdala and nuclear accumbens. Neurotensin is implicated in the regulation of luteinizing hormone and prolactin release, and has a variety of effects, including analgesia, hypothermia and increased locomotor pathways. This antibody was generated by immunization of rabbits with Neurotensin coupled to a carrier protein. |
