Background | Parathyroid Hormone (pTH) (39-68) is a fragment of the full length, 84-amino acid Parathyroid Hormone (PTH). PTH regulates serum calcium levels through its effects in the kidney, intestines, and bones. When serum calcium levels are low, PTH is secreted by the chief cells of the parathyroid gland, stimulating osteoclast activity and bone resorption thus the release of calcium. This antibody was generated by immunization of rabbits with pTH (39-68) coupled to a carrier protein. |
