Gene Name gastrin releasing peptide
Background Glicentin belongs to the proglucagon-derived peptides. The proglucagon gene is mainly expressed in the alpha-cells of the endocrine pancreas as well as the intestinal L-cells. Glicentin is a 69-amino acid peptide, which contains the entire sequences of glucagon and glicentin-related pancreatic peptide. Glicentin-Related Pancreatic Polypeptide is a 30-amino acid Gcg-derived peptide identified in human, mouse, rat, and pig. This antibody was generated by immunization of rabbits with Glicentin-Related Pancreatic Polypeptide coupled to a carrier protein.
Synonyms BN; bombesin; GRP-10; preproGRP; proGRP
