  The antibody has been characterised using Western blot and ELISA. It induces apoptosis in primary hepatocellular carcinoma cells and established liver cancer cell lines, but not normal human hepatocytes (Ichikawa et al., 2001). The antibody has been reported to function in flow cytometry to detect cell-surface expression of DR5 on Cos-7 cells transfected with full-length human DR5.
