• Background: Human Cancer/testis antigen MAGEA3 is a member of Melanoma Antigen Gene (MAGE) family, which has restricted expression to the testis and is aberrantly expressed in cancer cells. MAGEA3 has been found to be broadly expressed in a variety of malignancies such as melanoma, breast cancer, head and neck cancer, lung cancer, gastric cancer, skin squamous cell carcinoma, prostate cancer, colorectal cancer, etc. It has been shown that MAGEA3 expression is associated with cancer progression and metastasis, and increased expression of MAGE-A3 in cancer cells is associated with poor prognosis of cancer patients.
