Recommended Dilution Can be used in immunoelectrophoresis and double radial immunodiffusion to identify the presence of Fab, free or bound.
Recommended working dilutions:
Immunoelectrophoresis: use 2 μl or equivalent against 120 μl antiserum.
Double radial immunodiffusion (Ouchterlony): a rosette arrangement with 10 μl antiserum in a 3 mm diameter centre well and 2 μl serum samples (neat and diluted) in 2 mm diameter peripheral wells.
Reactivities Monkey
Host Rabbit
Clonality Polyclonal
Immunogen Purified Fab of normal Rhesus monkey IgG. Freund’s complete adjuvant is used in the first step of the immunization procedure.
Specificity The antiserum is reacting with the Fab subunit of intact IgG, IgA and IgM and other Ig classes of both light chain types, with their Fab or F(ab’)2 subunits and with free light chains of kappa and lambda type as tested in immunoelectrophoresis and double radial immunodiffusion.
Cross-reactivity: Inter-species cross-reactivity is a normal feature of antibodies to immunoglobulins, since Ig of different species frequently share antigenic determinants. Cross-reactivity of this antiserum has not been tested in detail, however in immunoelectrophoresis a reaction with human has been observed.
Formulation No preservative added, as it may interfere with the antibody activity. No foreign protein added.
State: Serum
State: Delipidated, heat inactivated lyophilized stable whole serum
Reconstitution Method Restore with 1 ml sterile distilled water.
Storage Prior to reconstitution store at 2-8°C.
Following reconstitution store undiluted at 2-8°C for one week
or (in aliquots) at -20°C for longer.
Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Note Adsorption: Immunoaffinity adsorbed using insolubilized antigens as required to eliminate antibodies reacting with other subunits of the immunoglobulin or reacting with other serum proteins. The use of insolubilized adsorption antigens prevents the presence of foreign protein or immune complexes in the antiserum.
