The treatment of HCT116 cells with 10 uM BAY11-7082 for 24 hours reduced PRL-3-increased p65 phosphorylation at S536, and the treatment of HCT116 cells with 2 uM AG490 for 24 hours reduced PRL-3-increased STAT3 phosphorylation at Y705 while the treatment of HCT116 cells with 100 ng/mL IL-6 (OriGene TP723240) for 24 hours increased the phosphorylation of p65 at S536 and that of STAT3 at Y705 through Western blot analysis with phospho-specific antibodies. B. • Summary: 'This gene encodes a cytokine that functions in inflammation and the maturation of B cells. In addition, the encoded protein has been shown to be an endogenous pyrogen capable of inducing fever in people with autoimmune diseases or infections.
