• Background: Mammalian PITPÃ? (phosphatidylinositol transfer protein Ã?) is a 272-amino-acid polypeptide capable of transferring PtdIns, PtdCho and SM (sphingomyelin) between membrane bilayers. Ablation of PITPÃ? is embryonically lethal. This antibody is specific for both splice variants of PITPÃ? but does not recognise PITPa despite the 95% similarity between the two.
